Experience at Finnovation Lab 2025: Sri Lanka’s Premier FinTech Training Programme
On 2nd September 2025, I had the opportunity to participate in the first-ever Finnovation Lab training programme, Sri Lanka’s premier initiative focused on advancing innovation in financial technology. The programme was held at the HNB Towers (22nd Floor), Colombo, bringing together aspiring innovators, industry experts, regulators, and global FinTech leaders.
Finnovation Lab offered an intensive learning experience through hands-on training workshops led by industry practitioners. These sessions provided valuable insights into real-world FinTech applications, regulatory considerations, and the practical challenges of building scalable and inclusive digital finance solutions.
As part of the programme, participants also received exclusive access to the Sri Lanka FinTech Summit 2025, held on 24th and 25th September 2025 at the BMICH. The summit created opportunities to engage with policymakers, investors, startups, and international experts, offering a broader perspective on global and regional FinTech trends.
One of the most impactful aspects of Finnovation Lab was the opportunity to present solution-oriented ideas addressing real challenges in Sri Lanka’s digital finance landscape. The programme emphasized responsible innovation, collaboration, and the alignment of technology with regulatory and societal needs.
Participating in Finnovation Lab was a meaningful experience that strengthened my understanding of how technology, data, and innovation can contribute to a more inclusive and resilient financial ecosystem. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this landmark initiative and to engage with a community committed to shaping the future of digital finance in Sri Lanka.
